MALAYALAM MOVIES SIMILARITIES WITH OTHER MOVIES
This article simply explain about different Malayalam movies and how much they inspired or copied the concept including stories, characters, events, songs etc. from other movies especially Hollywood.
So let's start
1) Varaphalam Vs See No Evil, Hear No Evil
Varaphalam is a 94's malayalam comedy movie which is directed by Thaha and written by B. Jayachandran.
This movie tells about a story of two brothers, one is deaf and other is blind. Actor Mukesh took the deaf's role and Sreenivasan took blind's role.
Now let's go for another movie, See No Evil, Hear No Evil.
This movie also tells about two persons, but here in this case they are friends, one is deaf and other one is blind. This movie is released on 1989.
Similarities
* Only in main characters
* In both movies, those deaf characters can understand others by watching their lips movements.
However this movies shows similarities only with characters. Their plots are different.
2)Up & Down Vs The Elevator
Up & Down is a Malayalam movie which released on theaters 2013, directed and written by T.K Rajeev Kumar.
The story is progressing when some people are struck in an elevator.
When i watch it's first promo i think it's remake of the movie "DEVIL". But it was more similar with "THE ELEVATOR".
The Elevator is 2011 American movie which is directed by Sting Sevendsen.
In this movie, some people struck in an elevator and they are being part of an incident which equally connected each other.
Similarities
( Spoiling alert.......)
* In both story people are struck in an elevator
* The story progressed in the elevator in both case including twist
* A common character in both movies,who afraid of narrow space, called "Claustrophobia"
* Pissing in the elevator
* Death in elevator (In Up & Down dead body found in elevator)
However i can see the Up& down not a rip off of Elevator.
The plot is very different in both case. I see it's an inspired one.
